Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Babu (the "app") and babubaby.app (the "website") are operated by Bobe Media ("we", "us"), based in Ontario, Canada. If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at babubabyapp@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

When you join the beta or launch list on our website: your first name, email address, whether you're expecting or your baby is born, your due date or your baby's birth month, your phone type, the baby app you use now (if you tell us), your country, and how you found us.

When you create a Babu account: your name, email address, and a sign-in identifier if you use Sign in with Apple or Google. We don't receive your Apple or Google password.

Information you add about your baby and family: your baby's name, birth date and due date, feeding type, and the logs you record, such as feeds, sleep, diapers, pumping, medications, growth measurements and notes. Some of this is health-related information about your child. We also store who in your family logged each entry and the family members you invite.

Subscription information: if you subscribe to Babu Plus, Apple processes your payment. We receive your subscription status (for example, active, trial or expired) through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never receive your card details.

Technical information: device type, operating system and app version, time zone, and crash and diagnostic information that helps us fix problems.

Support: anything you send us when you email us.

3. How we use your information

• To provide Babu: store and sync your logs across your devices and family members, and show your timeline, totals, stage cards and reports.
• To calculate features like the next nap window, Today's Plan, your baby's sweet spot and weekly patterns. These are calculated from your own logs using rules we wrote; we do not use your baby's data to make decisions about you.
• To manage your account, family sharing and subscription.
• To email you about the beta or launch if you signed up, and to send important service messages. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails anytime.
• To respond to support requests, keep Babu secure, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
• To improve Babu using aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you or your baby.

4. What we never do

• We never sell your personal information or your baby's information.
• We never share your information with advertisers, and there are no advertising or cross-app tracking tools in the app.
• We do not use your baby's data to train third-party AI models. Babu does not currently send your logs to any AI provider. If we add AI features in the future, we'll update this policy and ask for your permission first.

5. Who we share information with

People you choose: family members and caregivers you invite can see and add to your baby's information. You can remove them at any time.

Service providers who help us run Babu, only for that purpose and under contract:

Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the safety of a person.

Business changes: if Babu is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must keep protecting it as described here. We'll tell you before that happens.

6. Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on secure servers operated by our service providers in Canada and/or the United States. It may be processed outside your province, state or country, where local laws may differ. We require our providers to protect it.

7. How long we keep it

• App data: for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.
• Beta and launch list: until 12 months after Babu launches, or sooner if you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Support emails: up to 2 years.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view, edit and export your data in the app, and delete your account and all of your data from the app's settings. You can also email us to access, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent, or ask how it's used. We'll respond within 30 days.

Canada: you have rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, including Quebec's Law 25. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

United States: depending on your state (for example, California, Washington, Colorado, Connecticut or Virginia), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your information, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (we do neither). We won't treat you differently for using your rights.

9. Consumer health data

Some information you log, such as feeding, diapers, sleep, medications and growth, may be considered consumer health data under laws like Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect it only to provide the features you use, with your consent, and we never sell it or share it for advertising. You can delete it at any time. If a security breach ever affects this information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

10. Children

Babu is made for parents and caregivers aged 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information directly from children. Information about your child is entered by you, and you control it: you can edit or delete it at any time.

11. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that keep each family's data separate, and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

12. Not medical advice

Babu shows general guidance by age and patterns in your own logs. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Always talk to your doctor about your baby's health.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
